Candace Valenzuela will bring exactly the perspective we need to Washington. Candace understands that education is the key to solving so many of the challenges we face; from declining social mobility to rank racial inequality, our public schools are the institution best equipped to promote equity and empowerment in the 21st century. In Congress, Candace will work to make the promise of our public schools a reality. Candace is a coalition builder who is rooted in our community; as a Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD Trustee, Candace built relationships and trust with parents, teachers, administrators, and students alike to make real change. Candace slammed the breaks on the school to prison pipeline, fought for a pay raise for teachers, expanded STEM and vocational education, and made schools safer from the threat of gun violence.
